The Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund (KVV) and moovel Group GmbH (soon to be REACH NOW) are integrating TIER’s electric scooters into the „KVV.mobil“ app. From 3 March, KVV customers will be able to book the turquoise and black e-scooters in the Karlsruhe city area via the app.
„With the integration of e-scooters into the ‚KVV.mobil‘ app, we are expanding the mobility offer of the KVV. We are pleased that we can now offer our customers TIER’s electric scooters in addition to car sharing, rental bikes, on-demand transport and classic public transport. This allows us to even better meet our customers‘ desire for flexible offers for individual mobility needs,“ explains Olaf Strotkötter, who is also responsible for the digital mobility platforms at KVV, among other things.
TIER distributed around 200 electric scooters in the Karlsruhe city area in December 2019. With the e-scooters, KVV customers can now cover the first and last mile from or to the train or bus stop and thus do without the car.
Since May 2017, the KVV and moovel have been offering the possibility to search, compare and book several mobility services in just one app with the „KVV.mobil“ app. „KVV.mobil“ combines public transport and individual mobility in just one app. Thus, individual, day and group tickets for bus and train as well as the car sharing provider Stadtmobil, the bike sharing service Nextbike and the on-demand ridesharing service My Shuttle in Ettlingen can be compared and booked directly via the „KVV.mobil“ app. TIER e-scooters now complement the portfolio with a service for the first or last mile and offer a seamless mobility experience from door to door.
How does the booking of TIER e-scooters work?
Through integration in the „KVV.mobil“ app, users can conveniently activate and pay for the e-scooter service. Activating the service starts the use for trips on the road or on cycle paths. After the destination is reached, deactivation takes place via the app. Users can then use the stored payment option to pay for the e-scooter service.
The KVV.mobil app is available on Google Play and in the Apple Store. You can download the app here.
